Job Title: Information Technology Support Engineer (Freelance Contract)Company: Throne SolutionsLocation: Wendell, North Carolina, USAJob Type: Freelance / Contract (On-Site)Job OverviewThrone Solutions is seeking a skilled Information Technology Support Engineer to support on-site IT infrastructure and network operations for a project in Wendell, North Carolina. The engineer will be responsible for hardware installation, network support, device deployment, cabling, troubleshooting, and assisting remote technical teams during implementation and operational activities.Key Responsibilities* Validate hardware delivered against the Bill of Materials (BoM) and document serial numbers before installation.* Perform staging, unpacking, packing, shipping, and asset handling activities.* Install, rack, stack, and decommission network and IT equipment.* Execute IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities for IT infrastructure.* Install, maintain, and organize copper and fiber optic cabling.* Perform console access and assist with hardware configuration under remote guidance.* Support cutover, migration, and hypercare activities.* Participate in project review and coordination calls with clients and remote technical teams.* Upgrade, replace, and swap faulty hardware components.* Perform power verification, cable verification, and connectivity testing.* Complete inter-rack and intra-rack patching using copper and fiber cables.* Label devices, cables, and patch panels using industry standards.* Dispose of packaging materials following site procedures.* Conduct functional testing of servers, network devices, wireless access points, and related infrastructure.* Troubleshoot LAN/WAN/WLAN issues under the guidance of remote L2/L3 support teams.* Assist with wireless access point installation, replacement, and patching.* Coordinate with third-party vendors, ISPs, and hardware maintenance providers during on-site activities.* Maintain accurate documentation and provide timely project updates.* Follow all client safety, security, and operational procedures while working on-site.* Perform additional technical tasks assigned by remote engineering teams.Required Skills & Qualifications* Experience with IT infrastructure deployment and support.* Knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, WLAN).* Experience with rack & stack, structured cabling, and patch panel management.* Familiarity with Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, HP, Dell, or similar networking equipment.* Basic understanding of switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.* Experience with hardware installation, replacement, and troubleshooting.* Ability to work independently while coordinating with remote support teams.* Strong communication and documentation skills.* Ability to lift and install IT equipment safely.Preferred Qualifications* CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent certifications.* Previous experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure projects.* Experience with data center or network deployment projects.
