DevSecOps Engineer
FedScale delivers technology, cybersecurity, and program management solutions to federal agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs. We are looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to support a project with the VA.
*Responsibilities:*
· Assess the end-to-end communication workflow across Salesforce, S-Docs, AWS, and VA Notify.
· Evaluate S-Docs' ability to generate accurate, consistent HTML and PDF templates, and identify data dependencies and governance controls needed to maintain template quality at scale.
· Examine AWS Lambda processing capacity, queueing strategies, and monitoring capabilities.
· Validate the overall solution against scalability, security, auditability, and observability requirements.
· Document findings, architectural decisions, and identified risks to support traceability and future governance reviews.
· Produce formal solution documentation, including data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and decision logs.
· Build and refine Salesforce data models, integration components, and error-handling logic for end-to-end processing.
· Implement AWS components such as API Gateway endpoints, Lambda functions, SQS queueing, dead-letter queues, and logging and monitoring pipelines.
· Automate configuration management, secrets management, and access controls in accordance with federal security baselines.
· Integrate application security scanning, including SAST, DAST, and SCA, into CI/CD pipelines.
*Qualifications:*
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
· Experience in DevOps or DevSecOps or software integration engineering roles, ideally supporting federal government or VA programs.
· Hands-on Salesforce development experience, including Apex, Flow or Process Builder, and REST, SOAP, or Bulk API integration patterns.
· Experience with a Salesforce document generation tool such as S-Docs or Conga.
· Experience building serverless AWS integrations, including API Gateway, Lambda, SQS and DLQ patterns, and CloudWatch monitoring.
· Practical experience integrating automated security testing into build and release pipelines.
· Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, the Risk Management Framework, FISMA, and the federal Assessment and Authorization process.
· Experience deploying through CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments, using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
· Scripting and automation proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
· Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
· Ability to meet federal contracting requirements, including completion of a background check.
· Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. U.S. citizenship is required per VA contract requirements.
Pay: $98,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
