They are seeking a skilled **Senior Facilities Engineer** to join their growing team in Middlesex County, MA. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an innovative and fast-paced life sciences environment.The Senior Facilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facility systems and infrastructure. This role focuses on managing and optimizing facilities operations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance. This individual will play a key role in maintaining facility systems, overseeing maintenance programs, and supporting a safety-first culture across multiple sites.**Key Responsibilities**+ Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive facilities maintenance programs to optimize performance and reliability.+ Oversee the operation and maintenance of critical facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.+ Conduct routine inspections and assessments to ensure systems operate efficiently and meet industry and regulatory standards.+ Develop and enforce safety protocols related to facility operations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hazardous waste management.+ Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve operational and safety-related issues while maintaining productivity and compliance.+ Manage facility-related projects (upgrades, repairs, capital improvements), ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and safety requirements.+ Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and facility maintenance best practices.+ Supervise and mentor facilities maintenance staff, ensuring proper training and adherence to procedures.+ Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors and vendors, ensuring quality execution and safety compliance.+ Monitor facility performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and safety.**Qualifications**+ **Facilities Management Expertise:** Extensive experience managing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.+ **Operational Excellence:** Proven ability to develop and optimize maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve performance.+ **Safety Focus:** Strong knowledge of safety regulations and experience implementing safety protocols in facilities operations.+ **Technical Skills:** Proficiency with facility management systems and building automation systems (BMS).+ **Project Management:** Experience managing budgets, timelines, and contractors for facility projects.+ **Leadership:** Demonstrated ability to lead and develop maintenance teams.+ **Regulatory Knowledge:** Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and related compliance standards.+ **Problem-Solving:** Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex facility issues.+ **Flexibility:** Valid driver's license and ability to respond to off-hours emergencies as needed.**Education & Experience**+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or related field, or equivalent experience.+ 7+ years of experience in facilities engineering or maintenance management.+ Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.+ Relevant certifications/licenses (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) preferred.+ Experience in industrial manufacturing or large-scale facility environments preferred.+ Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external partners.**Physical Requirements**+ Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects.+ Frequently required to sit, reach, and perform physical movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.+ Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.+ Must have adequate vision, including peripheral vision and depth perception.**_This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
