Construction ForemanSterling, VAPosted 2 years agoJob Purpose: The Foreman plans, organizes, and coordinates projects from start to finish. She/he is responsible for the budget, personnel, quality and customer service.Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for planning and coordinating a project, ordering materials and managing manpower to ensure the project is completed on time and within budgetManage project man-hour budgets and track productionEnsure customer satisfaction, giving progress reports and tours to customers as neededHandle creation of job duties, delegate tasks to crew(s), and create and monitor schedules for each crewBrief crew members regarding daily tasks and how they should be carried outEnsure the accuracy of work ordersEnsure worksites are clean and clear of any hazardous materials prior to the beginning of a projectEnsure all machinery, equipment, tools, materials, supplies and resources are ready and available to crew(s) in a timely mannerMonitor daily construction procedures to ensure that proper quality is maintained and that schedules are being followedCreate progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the superintendent and any other applicable management team memberEnsure safety policies and procedures are being followed and handle onsite incidents and emergencies in a proactive mannerCreate and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of supplies and materialsEnsure proper maintenance and storage of construction equipment and toolsQualifications:High School Diploma requiredCertified or licensed in the associated craftPrior management experience preferredStrong knowledge of construction proceduresPossess exceptional time management skills and ability to work towards tight deadlinesAbility to work well with others, both internally and externallyStrong interpersonal and communication skillsWorking conditions: The position may require hours outside of regular business hours. Travel is required and will be based on job site location. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
