Position DescriptionThe Front Desk Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for clients, visitors, and community partners at Suazo Business Center’s Salt Lake City office. Because the Center serves a bilingual community of entrepreneurs and small business owners, fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this role.This position supports daily front desk operations and helps ensure the Center provides a welcoming, organized, and professional environment for all visitors.The Front Desk Specialist contributes to the smooth delivery of advising services, workshops, and community programs by supporting client scheduling, office coordination, and general administrative needs.Successful candidates are dependable, organized, and comfortable interacting with people from diverse backgrounds in a fast-paced office environment.This role includes:Serving as the first point of contact for clients and visitorsSupporting appointment scheduling and class registrationAssisting with front desk operations and office coordinationHelping prepare classrooms and meeting spaces for trainings and eventsMaintaining a clean, organized, and professional reception areaSupporting staff with administrative and operational tasks as neededHelping ensure clients have a positive and welcoming experience at the CenterWe are currently accepting resumes from candidates interested in either part-time or full-time schedules, depending on availability and organizational needs.Position ResponsibilitiesGreet clients and visitors with a positive, professional, and helpful attitudeAnswer, screen, and forward incoming phone callsSchedule advising appointments and register clients for classes and workshopsAccept payments and enter client information into internal systemsAssist clients with connecting to virtual advising sessions and trainingsAnnunciate client arrivals and help visitors navigate the CenterSupport de-escalation of heightened client situations when necessary and escalate concerns appropriatelyPrepare classrooms and meeting spaces for trainings and eventsAssist with administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and note takingSort and distribute incoming mailMaintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk areaSupport staff with additional operational tasks as neededPosition QualificationsRequiredFluency in English and SpanishStrong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional demeanor and customer-service mindsetBasic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred1–2 years of receptionist or customer service experienceAssociate degree or currently enrolled in collegeInterest in nonprofit work, community engagement, or small business support servicesAvailability to continue employment through multiple academic semestersAdditional InfoFull-time position: 30-40 hours per weekPart-time position: 15–29 hours per weekLocation: Salt Lake City officeSchedule: Weekday daytime hours based on availability and office needsPay range: $16–$17 per hour depending on experience Suazo Business Center is Utah’s most culturally responsive business development center, supporting entrepreneurs through training, advising, and access to capital.
