$70,000-$80,000/yearly, subject to skill and experience level
Job Summary
The Human Resource Generalist, working closely with the Human Resource Manager, supports HR initiatives for the corporate office and multiple remote work site locations. Duties are performed at the professional level in some or all the following functional areas: employee relations, onboarding, benefits, records management, reporting, compliance, and backup support to the payroll function.
This position requires an extremely organized, continuous, and perceptive person who is effective at relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The HR Generalist must be sensitive to and supportive of company strategy, employee goodwill, and the overall needs of the business.
Essential Functions
Maintains employee and applicant documentation compliant with internal and external requirements.
Ensures compliance with I-9 Verification, periodically conducting audits and training managers.
Supports the Benefits Specialist during open enrollment.
Manages and monitors compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace standards established by the company and in compliance with the customer guidelines.
Monitors, tracks, and reports on attendance including records related to tardiness, absences, PTO, LOA, FMLA to ensure proper documentation is maintained per internal and external.
Updates and maintains the HR system with employee status changes.
Creates and distributes employee reports and org charts as required.
Ensure proper maintenance of electronic and paper employee personnel records and files.
Effectively handles Unemployment Notices and attends hearings when necessary.
Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
Cross trains with and supports other functions in the HR Department as needed.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
A high school degree is required, (a 2- or 4-year degree in a related field is preferred)
Technology Requirements:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
Knowledge Requirements:
HRIS experience (Experience with Vista, Keystyle, or Arcoro is a plus)
Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills
Proven ability to be a flexible and dependable team player
Effective in both verbal and written communication
Payroll experience is a plus
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of HR and/or Payroll experience
Candidates with a PHR or CP certification are highly desirable
Other Information:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs
Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, MVR, and background check.
Must be willing to work after regular business hours with work on weekends, and some holidays when necessary.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Be at least 18 years of age.
