Military Veterans Encouraged to Apply.Job DescriptionThe Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures that support the collection, transformation, and storage of large datasets. The candidate will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for performance. This role requires strong technical expertise in data engineering and a deep understanding of best practices in data management.RequirementsU.S Citizenship required.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearanceThis position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.You can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.Qualifications And ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.At least 7 years of experience in Oracle-focused database engineering or a related role.Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, and packages, and experience with Oracle RDS.Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling, including schema and metadata management.Experience with performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries, including indexing strategies, execution plans, partitioning, and materialized views.Knowledge of ETL/ELT data transformations and data validation and reconciliation frameworks.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data quality profiling and discrepancy analysis.Attention to detail and commitment to quality.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a government contracting environment.Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics tools.Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.ResponsibilitiesData Pipeline Development:Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing data from various sources.Ensure data pipelines are reliable and able to handle large volumes of data in real-time or batch processing.Data ArchitectureDesign and implement data architectures that support data processing and analytics needs.Optimize data storage solutions for performance, scalability, and security.Data Integration Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move and transform data as required.Database ManagementManage database systems and ensure they are optimized for data retrieval and processing.Maintain and enhance database schemas and develop advanced database queriesCollaborationWork closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver relevant solutions.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration and accessibility.Performance Monitoring And OptimizationMonitor data infrastructure performance and identify areas for improvement.Implement performance tuning measures to enhance the efficiency of data processing.Security And ComplianceMaintain data security and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and HIPAA.Implement data governance policies and procedures.Documentation And Best PracticesCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, architectures, and processes.Follow best practices in data engineering, including version control, testing, and code quality.Continuous ImprovementStay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering.Continuously seek opportunities to improve data infrastructure and processes.Compensation And BenefitsAt NDi, we value our team and are committed to retaining top talent by offering competitive benefits and compensation packages.
