Senior Vice President, IT Strategy & ArchitectureJoin State Compensation Insurance Fund as the Senior Vice President, IT Strategy & Architecture. Drive enterprise architecture, cloud transformation, data strategy, and digital innovation across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine long‐term technology strategy and enterprise architecture roadmap aligned with business priorities and regulatory requirements.Lead modernization of legacy systems (Mainframe/COBOL, Oracle, WebSphere) to scalable, cloud‐enabled platforms (Azure, AWS, OpenShift, .NET, SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow).Establish architecture standards, reference models, and governance frameworks to guide technology investments.Oversee adoption of modern DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices (Jenkins, GitHub, OpenShift) to improve delivery velocity, quality, and reliability.Ensure strategic use of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) to balance scalability, security, and cost‐effectiveness.Lead enterprise data strategy, data governance, warehouse, integration, and analytics (Power BI, Tableau).Direct large‐scale IT strategy initiatives with 75‐120+ staff, including union employees, consultants, and offshore/onshore resources.Partner with business executives to align IT architecture with regulatory compliance, competitive positioning, and operational efficiency.Serve as trusted advisor to CIO, CEO, and executive leadership on emerging technologies, enterprise risks, and innovation opportunities.Represent IT strategy in executive forums, governance councils, and board‐level discussions.Qualifications10+ years of technology experience, 5+ years in leadership roles.5+ years as a Full Stack Developer with .NET and SQL Server (minimum 3 years).2+ years of cloud experience with Azure and AWS.Experience managing mixed employee and consultant teams.5+ years in insurance carrier or brokerage domain.Hands‐on experience with underwriting systems, actuarial systems, or insurance portals.Proven ability to drive enterprise architecture and delivery across multiple domains.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage.CalPERS Pension Plan, 401(k), and 457 Deferred Compensation.Professional Development Days and Personal Holidays.Training and development programs.Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement.Transit Pass Program.Wellness Programs.State Employee Discounts.LocationStatewide recruitment.
