Title: Senior Mechanical Assembly TechnicianLocation: Onsite in Northridge, CADuration: 12-month contract (multi-year extensions, conversion to FTE possible)Compensation: $50/hr - $55/hrWork Requirements: US CitizenRole Overview: We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Assembly Technician to support the assembly, integration, and verification of spaceflight and avionics hardware that interfaces directly with satellite systems. This is a hands-on, senior-level role for someone who goes beyond following instructions — a technician who can identify issues, take initiative, and help improve assembly processes and documentation.This role supports high-reliability mechanical hardware built in cleanroom environments and requires strong experience working from Siemens NX 3D CAD models, as well as the ability to create, validate, and refine assembly instructions for space hardware.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble, integrate, and support test of mechanical and electro-mechanical space / avionics hardware that interfaces directly with satellite systemsWork directly from Siemens NX 3D CAD models to interpret assemblies and guide build activitiesDesign, author, and improve assembly instructions/proceduresIdentify incorrect, incomplete, or unclear assembly documentation and proactively flag issues to engineering and manufacturing leadershipApply deep understanding of torque methods, fastener selection, and precision mechanical assembly across varied hardware configurationsPerform work in cleanroom environments, following contamination control, ESD, and handling requirementsSupport hardware through assembly, integration, rework, and test cyclesPartner closely with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Test teams to resolve build issues and improve hardware qualityRequired Qualifications (Must-Have)10+ years of experience in senior mechanical assembly for spaceflight, satellite, or avionics hardwareHands-on experience assembling mechanical components that attach directly to satellites or space systemsStrong experience working in cleanroom environmentsAbility to read and work from Siemens NX 3D CAD models for assembly and integrationExperience creating, validating, or revising assembly instructions and build documentationStrong understanding of torque applications, fasteners, and precision mechanical buildsDemonstrated ability to take initiative, identify problems, and escalate or correct issues before they impact hardware qualityComfortable working in fast-paced, high-ownership aerospace environmentsPreferred / Nice-to-Have QualificationsBackground in space systems, satellite hardware, or high-reliability avionicsPrior experience supporting design-for-assembly (DFA) or early hardware development buildsExperience supporting hardware through environmental or functional testingPrior collaboration with design engineers on hardware iteration and process improvementAbout INSPYR SolutionsTechnology is our focus and quality is our commitment.
