Job SummaryA Telecom Wireless Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for wireless infrastructure projects (e.g., towers, small cells, fiber builds, site upgrades). You will analyze plans, site surveys, project specifications, and vendor pricing to develop comprehensive estimates that support bidding, budgeting, and project planning.Key ResponsibilitiesReview project documents such as blueprints, RF plans, site surveys, and specifications to determine scope of work. Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor work. Prepare detailed estimates, including cost breakdowns, assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, design teams, and vendors for pricing and scope validation. Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks to gather data and clarify requirements. Source and manage subcontractor/vendor quotes; evaluate competitive pricing. Provide value-engineering recommendations to reduce costs without compromising quality or compliance. Prepare bid proposals for carriers, owners, or general contractors. Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation for internal review and audit.Required Skills & Qualifications= Experience with telecom/wireless construction estimating or utility construction. = Knowledge of wireless infrastructure components (small cells, towers, fiber backhaul, power systems). (industry expectation) = Proficiency in takeoff and estimating software (PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, etc.). = Ability to interpret technical drawings, RF plans, and engineering specifications. = Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. = Excellent communication skills for internal and external coordination. = Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.Typical Daily Activities= Review incoming RFQs/RFPs and develop estimating strategy. = Conduct takeoffs and pricing analysis (materials, labor, equipment). = Contact vendors and subcontractors to collect quotes. = Create and update bid documents and cost models. = Present cost estimates and clarifications to project leadership.Value to the Organization= Ensures project budgets are realistic and competitive. = Helps the company win competitive bids while protecting margins. = Reduces risk by thoroughly evaluating scope, costs, and contingencies.
