Coordinate Measuring Machine Programmer

About the Role We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer to enhance our automated inspection processes. In this role, you will develop and refine PC-DMIS routines for intricate aerospace and defense components, ensuring the accuracy and dependability of our New Product Integration (NPI) and production activities. Your expertise in GD&T and fixture design will be crucial to our success. Responsibilities Develop and optimize PC-DMIS programs for New Product Integration (NPI) projects to ensure precise measurements. Interpret and implement GD&T specifications from engineering blueprints, resolving any inconsistencies to maintain quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CMM technicians, quality engineers, and manufacturing engineers, to promote excellence in inspection processes. Design specialized fixtures to facilitate automated inspection processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Troubleshoot PC-DMIS programs, enhancing internal specifications to improve overall performance. Support the validation of complex geometries using custom probes and setups, ensuring precise measurements. Work closely with software teams to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing automation and efficiency. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a PC-DMIS programmer. Minimum of 2 years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience in a machine shop with a strong understanding of metrology for subtractive manufacturing. Preferred Skills PC-DMIS training (101, 201, or higher). In-depth knowledge of GD&T, datum structures, and tolerances (form, orientation, location, profile, runout). Proficiency in CAD software (NX preferred). Background as a machinist or experience with 5-axis machining environments. Expertise in PC-DMIS API / VB scripting. Familiarity with automated inspection processes and integration of customer specifications.
