Principal Consultant - Data Architect

Amplytico is seeking a skilled Data Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data warehousing and lake housing, experience with modern data platforms including the Microsoft Power Platform, and the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical staff. This role requires a proactive individual who is comfortable in a consulting environment and capable of rolling up their sleeves to tackle complex data challenges.Key Responsibilities:Architect and implement data warehousing and lake housing solutions.Transform legacy industrial systems into modern, accessible data platforms.Utilize Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies to design and manage data solutions.Develop and deliver Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models to support operational and executive decision-making.Build Power Apps solutions to streamline data collection, field workflows, and operational processes.Design Power Automate flows to automate data pipelines, notifications, and cross-system integrations.Collaborate with non-technical operational staff and leadership to understand and meet their data needs.Connect disparate enterprise systems and construct data models that simplify data ecosystems.Establish and maintain data governance frameworks for clients.Support and lead teams of business intelligence analysts.Host data requirement and fact-finding engagements with both operational and IT staff.Manage architecture in diverse IT infrastructure environments with varying requirements, objectives, and governance.Upskill less data-savvy staff on implementing governance, controls, and data modeling best practices.Knowledge of ETL tools is a plus.Qualifications:Required Technical SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field; Master's preferred7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar rolesProven experience modernizing legacy industrial systems into cloud-based data platformsExpert knowledge of at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCPAdvanced experience with data warehouse technologies (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift)Proficiency in data processing frameworks (Databricks, Spark, or similar)Strong SQL skills and experience with multiple database technologiesExperience implementing data governance frameworks and data quality standardsPower Platform ExperienceHands-on experience with Power BI including DAX, data modeling, and enterprise report/dashboard developmentExperience building Power Apps (canvas and/or model-driven) for operational workflowsExperience designing Power Automate flows for process automation and system integrationFamiliarity with Power Platform governance, environments, and the Dataverse ecosystemIntegration & Modeling ExpertiseDemonstrated success connecting disparate enterprise systemsAdvanced data modeling skills and ability to simplify complex data ecosystemsExperience with API integration and service-oriented architecturesKnowledge of ETL/ELT tools and processes (SSIS, ADF, Informatica, or similar)Leadership & Collaboration3+ years of experience leading or mentoring BI/analytics teamsExcellent communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExperience conducting data requirements gathering and documentationProven ability to translate business needs into technical requirementsTrack record of successfully upskilling team members on data practicesAdditional QualificationsUnderstanding of industrial systems and operational technology (OT)Experience with Agile methodologies and project managementCertifications in relevant technologies (Microsoft, Snowflake, Databricks)Work LocationThis position requires onsite presence at client locations and/or our San Francisco office up to 2 days per week. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the San Francisco Bay Area. Learn CompensationAs required by California law, the base salary range for this position in San Francisco is $125,000 to $195,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
