Elementary School Building Substitute Teacher
Job Overview: To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in Elementary School classrooms, ranging from K-8th grade, that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Implement the lesson plan provided by the classroom teacher in his/her absence.
Oversee students outside of the classroom including in the hallways and cafeteria.
Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times.
Implement all classroom procedures in the absence of the classroom teacher, such as, attendance, uniform violations, and lunch/breakfast distribution.
Ensure classroom and work is kept clean and orderly.
Compile a report for the teacher for when he/she returns.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.
Communicate with parents/guardians.
Collaborate with other colleagues.
Assist with arrivals and dismissal of students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
