We are looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our team.Benefits:- Start at $29.00 per hour- Overtime available up to 50 hours per week based on business needs- Overtime paid at 1.5x for all hours beyond 50 per week- PTO & paid holidaysSchedule:Monday - Friday8:00 AM - 5:00 PM40 hours standard workweekYour Next Opportunity Awaits - Apply Today!Job Summary:As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient vehicle operations. All work must be completed following company safety standards, operational procedures, and policies.Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on diesel engines, trucks, and trailersConduct DOT-compliant safety inspectionsDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and service manualsRepair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systemsAccurately document all work performed and parts usedFollow all company safety procedures and wear required protective gear at all timesCommunicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customersMaintain a clean, organized work environmentComply with all US-24 Truck and Trailer Repair LLC policies at all timesQualifications:- Education & Certifications:- High school diploma or GED required- Vocational/technical school training in diesel mechanics preferred- ASE certifications (T-Series) a plus — especially T2 (Diesel Engines), T4 (Brakes), T6 (Electrical)- Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus- Experience:- Minimum 3 months of hands-on diesel truck and trailer repair experience- Experience with Class 6, 7, and 8 commercial vehicles preferred- Familiarity with major engine brands (Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR, Volvo, International) preferred- Experience with trailer repairs including air brakes, landing gear, lights, and DOT inspections- Technical Skills:- Proficient in performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical bulletins- Competent with computerized diagnostic tools (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit Diagnostic Link, Dearborn)- Knowledge of brake systems, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components- Ability to perform DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet federal safety standards- Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly- Comfortable working in various weather conditions (shop and on-site)- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periodsUnlock Your Potential with APL Cargo, Inc.!
