We empower people with developmental disabilitiesthrough vocational, educational, recreational, and residential programsto live their best lives.**Orchard Village is seeking a full-timeSpecial Education Teacher to join our team!**Special Education DescriptionThe Special Education Teacher is the case manager of a therapeutic,transition day school for students with disabilities, ages 17 - 22. S/hewill develop curriculum, plan daily schedules, develop and implementIEPs, and coordinate with the Social Worker and Teaching Assistants.S/he must be creative and energetic to include both practical lessonsand life skills. Low teacher-to-student ratio. The job emphasizesteaching life skills and independence, vocational skills, careerdevelopment, achieving goals, and community integrated activities. TheProgram Focuses On The Four Components Of Transition PlanningEmployment, Training, Education, and Independent Living.Special Education Teacher Requirements BA Special Education, Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1)Endorsement and experience with students in a classroom with CrossCategorical Disabilities.
