· Job Title: IS Project Manager - ServiceNow Greenfield Implementation· Location: Remote, Europe· Duration: 6 months (contract)Core Role OverviewEnd-to-end project lead responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing a brand-new ServiceNow greenfield implementation project. Owns project scope, timeline, budget, resource allocation, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and successful go-live of the fully configured ServiceNow instance, ensuring alignment with business objectives, IT governance, and ServiceNow product standards. Acts as the single point of accountability for all project deliverables and cross-functional team coordination.Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Governance (Greenfield-Specific)Develop a detailed, greenfield-focused project charter, scope statement, work breakdown structure (WBS), project schedule, budget, and resource plan tailored to building a new ServiceNow instance from zero configurationDefine project governance framework, including steering committee meetings, decision-making protocols, change control processes, and milestone tracking for all implementation phases (discovery, design, build, test, train, deploy, post-go-live support)Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align project goals with organizational IT strategy, service desk transformation goals, and compliance requirements (ITIL, SOX, GDPR, industry-specific regulations)2. Cross-Functional Team Leadership & Resource ManagementLead and coordinate a cross-functional team including technical architects, business analysts, QA testers, IT support teams, end-user subject matter experts (SMEs), and vendor/ServiceNow partner resourcesManage resource allocation, workload balancing, and performance tracking for all project team members, ensuring accountability for greenfield build and configuration tasksFacilitate daily standups, weekly progress meetings, and phase gate reviews to resolve roadblocks, align on priorities, and keep the project on schedule and budgetLiaise with external ServiceNow implementation partners/vendors to manage deliverables, SLAs, and technical support for platform configuration and licensing3. Scope, Risk & Issue ManagementEnforce strict scope control for the greenfield implementation; manage all change requests via formal change management processes to prevent scope creep and budget overrunsIdentify, assess, and mitigate project-specific risks (e.g., configuration delays, stakeholder misalignment, user resistance, licensing gaps, technical integration roadblocks) and develop contingency plans for high-priority risksProactively resolve project issues, escalate critical risks/delays to executive stakeholders, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track4. Stakeholder Communication & ReportingServe as the primary point of contact for executive sponsors, business leaders, IT teams, and end-users throughout the greenfield implementationProvide regular, transparent project status reports (weekly/monthly) including progress against milestones, budget usage, risk updates, and deliverable statusConduct stakeholder workshops to gather feedback, align on design decisions, and secure sign-off for critical project phases (design freeze, UAT completion, production go-live)5. Testing, Deployment & Post-Go-Live OversightOversee user acceptance testing (UAT), integration testing, and performance testing for the new ServiceNow instance, ensuring all configured modules meet business requirementsPlan and execute the production go-live strategy, including cutover planning, data validation (for initial master data load), and hypercare support post-deploymentMonitor post-go-live platform performance, user adoption, and issue resolution; coordinate closure of project punch lists and final project handover to IT support teamsLead project closure activities, including lessons learned documentation, final budget reconciliation, and project sign-off from stakeholdersRequired Background & QualificationsMandatory Technical & Professional Experience5+ years of professional experience as an IS/IT Project Manager, with 2+ years of direct ServiceNow implementation experience (greenfield implementation experience highly preferred)Proven track record leading end-to-end IT implementation projects, including full lifecycle planning, execution, and go-liveWorking knowledge of ServiceNow platform fundamentals, core modules (ITSM, Incident, Problem, Change, Request Fulfillment, Service Catalog, Project Portfolio Management), and greenfield implementation methodologiesFormal project management certification: PMP (Project Management Professional), CSM (Certified Scrum Master), PRINCE2, or ServiceNow Certified Project Manager (CPM) – at least one requiredExperience with project management tools: MS Project, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet,Mandatory Soft & Leadership SkillsStrong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and executive communication skillsExcellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced implementation environmentsAbility to balance technical requirements with business needs and manage competing prioritiesStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneouslyPreferred QualificationsITIL Foundation or higher certification (critical for ITSM-aligned ServiceNow implementations)Experience with other ServiceNow modules (ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, CSM, SPM) or industry-specific configurationsExperience working with global or cross-regional teams and remote implementation resourcesKnowledge of ServiceNow licensing, governance, and platform maintenance best practices
