GovCon Controller

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations and supporting financial reporting, compliance, and government contract accounting requirements. This is a hands-on leadership role within a regulated government contracting environment, requiring expertise in FAR/CAS compliance and job cost accounting.Key Responsibilities:Accounting Operations: Lead monthly/year-end close processes, manage GL, AP/AR, payroll, and billing, and maintain balance sheet integrity.Government Contracting: Manage job cost accounting across various contract types (T&M, FPIF, FFP). Ensure compliance with FAR Part 31 and CAS.Compliance & Audit: Support DCAA/DCMA audit requests, prepare incurred cost submissions, and coordinate tax reporting packages.Systems & Process: Support ERP system administration (e.g., Deltek Costpoint/Unanet), improve accounting workflows, and ensure internal control integrity.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within the government contracting/defense industry.Deep knowledge of general ledger, job cost accounting, indirect rate structures, and FAR cost allowability principles.Strong Excel skills and experience with GovCon ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar).
