We remain steadfast in our commitment to operational safety, technical innovation, and the continuous professional development of our workforce.Executive Summary of the RoleLouisville Paving and Construction (LPC) is seeking a disciplined and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our Estimating Department.The Senior Estimator is responsible for the comprehensive management of the bidding process. This includes meticulous quantity take-offs, risk assessment, subcontractor coordination, and the final presentation of bids to both internal leadership and external clients. You will serve as a technical expert, ensuring that every proposal aligns with LPC’s standards for safety, quality, and profitability.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Valuation: Develop comprehensive cost estimates for heavy highway, bridge, and civil sitework projectsStrategic Planning: Collaborate with the VP of Estimating and field operations to determine production rates, equipment requirements, and innovative construction methods.Site Investigation: Perform thorough field inspections to evaluate soil conditions, utility constraints, and logistical challenges unique to each project site.Subcontractor Management: Prequalify and solicit competitive quotes from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring full scope coverage and compliance with project specifications.Software Integration: Utilize industry-standard technology—specifically Ineight, Agtek, and Bluebeam—to produce precise, data-driven estimates.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy civil/highway estimating.Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency in grading, paving, utility installation, and rock excavation.Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.Competencies: Exceptional analytical skills, a high degree of integrity, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative "One Team" environment.This search is being conducted by FireSeeds, a retained executive and leadership search firm specializing in purpose-driven organizations.
