TOTAL PUBLIC MEMBERS: 6APPOINTMENT TYPE: Appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of CouncilTERM LENGTH (YEARS): 3RESIDENCY: Strong preference for District residency, with representation from all 8 wardsPAID BOARD: No (all roles are voluntary)Current District of Columbia residents will receive priority and advanced preference for screening and interviews.DESCRIPTIONThe Board shall regulate the practice of psychology, the practice by psychology associates, and the practice of behavior analysis.COMMISSION MEMBERSHIPThe board consists of 6 members:4 shall be psychologists licensed in the District;1 shall be a behavioral analyst licensed in the District; and1 shall be a consumer member.No member shall be appointed to serve more than 3 full consecutive 3-year terms.QUALIFICATIONSProfessional members must have a minimum of three years' experience in practicing one or more of the professions or occupations regulated by the Board.Consumer member(s) shall: Shall be residents of the District at the time of their appointments and while they are members of the BoardBe at least 18 years old;Not be engaged in the regulated occupation or in training to become a professional in the field;Not have a household member who is engaged in the regulated occupation or is in training to become a professional in the field; andNot own, operate, or be employed in or have a household member who owns, operates, or is employed in a business which has as its primary purpose the sale of goods or services to regulated professionals or facilities.TIME COMMITMENTThe Board meets every other month.If you are interested in an appointment to this board, please complete the appointment application and attach the required documentation.
