Posting DetailsPosition InformationJob DescriptionRHS Job Title Cook/Kellogg Center Job Description$23.84/hrWill prepare, season, cook, and portion a wide variety of foods for Culinary Services, including Banquet Events. Position is located at the Kellogg Conference Center & Hotel.Prepares, seasons, and cooks a large variety of main dishes, vegetables, starches, soups, and sauces for Kellogg Center banquet events using standardized recipes; oversees and assists with the preparation of food items for the employee break room; taste-tests all food items for banquet events to meet and exceed Kellogg Center quality standards; determines cooking and production times to ensure maximum freshness and the availability of prepared items for all Kellogg Center banquet events; inventories food and supplies and requisitions necessary items for banquet food production; utilizes leftover food ingredients to eliminate waste; assists Kellogg Center Chefs with the development of new banquet menu items and the improvement of current menu items; stores food items properly to ensure efficient handling and the elimination of waste and spoilage; assists Kellogg Center chefs with solving any issues related to banquet menus, cooking production, safety, sanitation, equipment, or other related issues; operates, cleans and maintains all food preparation and cooking equipment; trains and oversees part-time support staff in all cooking methods, processes, and techniques. This position is located at the Kellogg Center.All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, you will be expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension.
