You will handle and monitor product and equipment, ensure that everything is running smoothly, and be a safe, productive, and valued team member.Tasks, Duties, & General ResponsibilitiesUnder Supervisor guidance, perform daily production activities and operate equipment while maintaining a safe, high-quality, high-volume manufacturing environment 55% Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including sweeping, gathering trash, and other janitorial duties as assigned 15% Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer product from warehouse to production to freezer 5% Ensure equipment is maintained in clean, good, and safe working condition and recommend improvements to ensure safety, quality, and production capacity 5% Follow all company policies and procedures, safety procedures, food safety guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices beyond regulatory needs 5% Help junior Machine Operators in their assigned responsibilities 5% Recommend and support development and process improvements to enhance operational safety and efficiency 5% Identify and report unsafe operations to Supervisor or leader immediately 5% ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITYThe Machine Operator position is divided into three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. All Machine Operators have the opportunity to advance to each level through a training and assessment process. The Machine Operator must prove sustained proficiency in their assigned function and perform that function at least 85% of the time to receive the pay rate associated with the level. The higher the level, the higher the pay.Machine Operator IColorChopperBatching HandheldVemag OperatorOmoriRossRepak/LabelerBlender OperatorSupervisory Duties (if applicable)None QualificationsEducation, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience: High school diploma or GED Problem solving skills and attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to comprehend and follow instructions Ability to understand and follow safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential to maintain a culture of cooperation and respect Must be able to work individually in a team environment Must be punctual and dependable Ability to work 12-hour shifts Flexibility to work any/all shifts to support a high growth work environment Mandatory overtime is required on occasion, which can include some weekends Manufacturing experience, especially food manufacturing experience, is preferred WORK ENVIRONMENTWarehouse and food manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas Must be able to repetitively lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations Must be able to repetitively exert the required force to push/pull gaylords of differing weights (400 to 1,200 lbs.) while walking utilizing a manual pallet jack Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods Must be able to crouch/stoop/squat/bend as needed to complete tasks Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks Understand that overtime and occasional worked holidays will be required based on company needs **Hourly rate commensurate with experience**The starting hourly base pay for this role is USD $21.50 per hour. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
