Rollercoaster Operator (Ages 18+)

Working weekends (and some Thur.-Fri.) from October - December, with the possibility of being invited back for the 2025 season. Please see our operating calendar for more information regarding a possible work schedule: https://www.kentuckykingdom.com/plan-your-visit/calendar/#/2024/9 Job Description: This position is responsible for performing safety checks, loading and unloading attractions, securing restraint devices, controlling operational functions, and maintaining constant surveillance of guests on attractions to ensure safe and efficient attraction operation all while proving exceptional guest service and creating memories worth repeating. Job Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Recognize and respond to emergencies in accordance with standard operating procedures. Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in accordance with park policies and standards, including wearing proper uniform at all times. Maintain ride and ride area cleanliness while in position. Enforce all park and attraction policies, rules, and regulations. Monitor attraction during operation to maintain a safe and secure ride area. Inspect attractions and equipment on a daily basis and report safety issues to your area leadership. Complete all attraction specific and other documentation, including pre-opening and closing checklists. Consistently operate attractions according to standard operating procedures. Provide clear verbal instructions to guests. Consistently strive to create memories worth repeating by engaging guests on attractions, in queues, and out in other park areas. Assist area leadership as directed during ride shutdown and if the Emergency Action Plan is activated. Resolve guest opportunities, calling for assistance when necessary. Requirements: Essential Job Skills: Positive attitude with the ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with both hosts and guests. Strong understanding of and focus on safety and guest service. Ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner. Ability to enforce attraction and park policies in a guest friendly manner. Ability to adapt and adjust to changes as needed. Ability to maintain a high standard of safety, guest service, efficiency, and cleanliness. Ability to consistently meet park and HFE standards. Ability to be a team player. Detail oriented and punctual. Requirements: Minimum of 18 years old. Maintain current certification in the following: Ride Operations Safety Training Attraction specific training for all assigned areas Monthly Safety Critical Responsibilities sign-off Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods and tolerate extreme weather conditions. Physical ability to bend over to lift up on restraint systems. Participation in all required training sessions Knowledge of departmental and park-wide policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
