Credit Recovery Instructor
Job DescriptionThe Credit Recovery Instructor is responsible for overseeing and facilitating the credit recovery program at the high school level. This role includes acting as the instructor of record, ensuring students successfully recover credits in a timely manner by monitoring their progress and pace. The instructor will provide support, guidance, and answer questions from both students and parents. Communication with school counselors and other faculty members regarding student progress is essential.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.Experience in a high school setting is preferred.Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to motivate and support students in a virtual or blended learning environment.Terms of Employment: Follows Teacher hours and days. Hourly Wage based on the Superintendent's recommendation.Reports to Building PrincipalPhysical Ability: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, see and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.Job Responsibilities/DutiesThe list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only, and is not a comprehensive listing of all duties and responsibilities performed by this position.Program Facilitation:Oversee the credit recovery program, ensuring it meets educational standards.Serve as the instructor of record for students enrolled in credit recovery courses.Monitor student progress and pace, ensuring they remain on task.Provide academic support and guidance during scheduled class periods.Answer questions and address concerns from students and parents promptly.Maintain regular communication with school counselors about student progress and any intervention needs.Provide feedback to students and parents on academic performance and areas for improvement.Track and report on individual student progress.Ensure all necessary documentation and records are accurately maintained.Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and faculty.Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
