This person will constantly be responsible for successfully integrating safety initiatives into the functional operation of the different projects by maintaining processes and procedures to prevent injuries and violations of the law or company policies and minimize the environmental impact of our operations.About The RoleKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Position Overview Use pre nested cut cards and other documentation to convert raw shape steel into semi finished parts for fabrication. Information on the cut card needs to be read, understood and verified prior to cutting. This information includes, but not limited to: type, size and weight of beam, cut length and heat number.Essential Job FunctionsVerify the material is correct prior to cuttingWork off pre-nested cut sheetsMatch nested cut sheet description and length with material. Able to read a tape measureUses manual or CNC measuring to measure material being cutPiece marks and identifies steel per jobsProperly stacks material safely and staging pre jobsUnderstand, interpret and edit G-code programmingRecognize, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures and toolingResponsible for ensuring inserts s are in working condition and material cutting squareProperly markup drops and return to stockResponsible for loading/unloading the machine with an overhead cranePerform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machineryComply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructionsKnow the difference in material types.
