Job Title: Data Architect Location: Fully Remote Salary: DOE + full benefits Clearance: Active Public Trust (or ability to obtain) Overview: TechSur Solutions is a digital services company whose mission is to enable digital transformation for our customers improving quality and efficiency. Based in the DC metropolitan area, TechSur specializes in advanced cloud services, modernization for both IT structures and applications, leveraging Agile development, and Data Analytics. Since we were formed in August of 2016, we have supported multiple impactful and exciting government programs. Job Responsibilities Working with customers in execution of a technology assessment, gap analysis, recommendations, and implementation of proposed technical solutions Develop enterprise Data Architectures strategies and provide solution recommendations in support of business strategies Work across all phases of data modeling, from conceptualization to visualization and database optimization. This extends to SQL development and database administration. Review business requests for data and data usage, research data sources and create requirements documentation Coordinate design and develop new data sources and usage ensuring consistency and integration with existing warehouse structure Design extract, transform and load logic of data, analyze data logs to enhance performance and increase functionality Design control and monitoring mechanisms to ensure accuracy and data integrity Coordinate development of and / or develop BI presentation layers Design, develop, test and deploy dashboards, scorecards, reports and alerts/notifications for the presentation of business metrics according to business user requirements consistent with integrated BI applications and warehouse structure Develop support documents for BI applications and provides user support and training Lead design of high-level conceptual and logical models that facilitate a cross-system/cross functional view of data requirements Oversee the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data quality Establish methods and procedures for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement Conduct data capacity planning, life cycle, duration, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other tasks Collaborate with project managers and business unit leaders for all projects involving enterprise data Identify and develop opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement Provide consultation during business requirements gathering efforts Design, develop, and implement the data architecture for a data warehouse, including high-performance ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) tools, routines and infrastructure Lead Data Profiling and Data Quality analysis using SQL or other query based analysis Develop and implement solutions for cleansing data to remove errors and ensure consistency Recognize and leverage data sources both internally and externally to enhance the analysis capabilities Reverse engineer data specifications from source systems through data discovery, analysis, and other techniques Required Skills/Work Experience 7+ years + of information technology experience - architecture/engineering, information security, or related experience At least 3-5 years of data architecture experience, with expertise in both transactional and data warehouse modeling Master data management and data governance experience desired Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance Strong initiative, innovative thinking skills, and the ability to analyze details and adopt a big-picture view Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information to technical and non-technical contacts Ability to lead and assist a wide range of customers, from executive level to Line of Business, in meeting their business objectives Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain productive communications with external agencies and productive working relationships with other team members Strong SQL development skills Strong Microsoft Power BI skills Strong data modeling and database design skills Proficient in database administration Intellectually curious, innovative and detail oriented Maintain professional demeanor in a fast-paced, changing environment Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or related field
