Client Implementation Specialist/API Testing, UAT

Client Implementation SpecialistLocations: Winston Salem, NCPosition summary: The Client Implementation Specialist provides technical and client-facing expertise for onboarding, implementation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) of client systems, processes, and products. The Specialist leads testing across APIs, web applications, IBM MQ messaging, and managed file-transfer platforms, including Connect: Direct and FTP/SFTP. This role converts business and technical requirements into certification plans, validates integrated workflows, troubleshoots issues, and supports a seamless client experience. The Specialist also evaluates repetitive manual testing and operational activities and develops controlled automation using open-source frameworks and scripting tools.Qualifications required:Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field and 5 years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may be considered.Minimum 2+ years of client onboarding, implementation, or systems integration experience.Minimum 3+ years of UAT, system integration, quality assurance, or enterprise application testing experience.Hands-on REST and/or SOAP API testing, including JSON/XML payloads, HTTP methods and status codes, headers, authentication, business rules, and error handling.Experience with Postman, SoapUI, Swagger/OpenAPI tools, REST Assured, or comparable API testing solutions.Experience developing automated tests with open-source frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework, Pytest, or comparable technologies.Working knowledge of Windows- and Linux-based systems, IBM MQ, Connect:Direct, and FTP/SFTP technologies.Programming or scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, Java, PowerShell, or a comparable language.Strong understanding of SDLC, quality assurance practices, defect management, and version control.Ability to analyze logs, payloads, queue activity, file-transfer records, and technical failures.Detail-oriented and organized, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.Ability to communicate clearly, work across organizational levels, and use Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.Essential responsibilities: Lead client onboarding and implementation activities, ensuring timely and successful adoption of systems and products.Plan, coordinate, and execute UAT, system integration, regression, positive, negative, and end-to-end testing.Translate business and technical requirements into certification plans, test cases, test data, acceptance criteria, and traceability documentation.Test REST and SOAP APIs and validate payloads, headers, authentication, status codes, business processing, and error responses.Validate web application workflows, navigation, field-level rules, access controls, permissions, and supported browser behavior.Validate IBM MQ messaging and Connect:Direct or FTP/SFTP transfers, including receipt, acknowledgments, naming conventions, permissions, and failure conditions.Analyze logs, queues, payloads, transfer records, and environment details to isolate application, data, configuration, connectivity, or infrastructure issues.Document and track defects with reproduction steps, expected and actual results, evidence, and business impact; coordinate resolution and retesting.Design, develop, and maintain reusable automated tests, scripts, and utilities using open-source frameworks and approved tools.Review repetitive or error-prone manual tasks and implement controlled automation with logging, exception handling, traceability, and appropriate human review.Maintain test results, defect logs, implementation records, automation assets, and testing or implementation metrics.Serve as a primary client contact; coordinate cross-functional resources and support status reporting, training materials, user guides, and continuous improvement.Must-Have Skills (non-negotiable)API TestingHands-on REST and/or SOAP API testing — JSON/XML payloads, HTTP methods/status codes, headers, authentication, business rules, error handlingTools: Postman, SoapUI, Swagger/OpenAPI, REST Assured, or comparableAutomationExperience building automated tests with open-source frameworks: Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework, Pytest, or comparableProgramming/scripting: Python, JavaScript, Java, PowerShell, or comparableBonus: experience automating repetitive manual/operational tasks (logging, exception handling, traceability)UATMin. 3+ years UAT, system integration, QA, or enterprise application testingMin. 2+ years client onboarding, implementation, or systems integration experienceAbility to translate business/technical requirements into certification plans, test cases, acceptance criteria
