Field Foreman - Structural Steel

Job DescriptionTraveling Structural Steel Field ForemanA respected structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking an experienced Traveling Field Foreman to lead steel erection crews on commercial and industrial projects across the Southeast. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands steel erection operations, can manage ironworker crews, and takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality work in the field.As a Traveling Structural Steel Field Foreman, you will work closely with the Field Superintendent and project teams to coordinate daily work activities, ensure proper installation of structural steel components, and maintain strong safety and productivity standards. This position requires regular travel to project sites primarily located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise ironworker crews performing structural steel erectionCoordinate daily work activities and communicate priorities to field teamsAssist with steel erection sequencing, rigging, and crane coordinationEnsure proper installation of columns, beams, bracing, and bolted connectionsReview structural drawings and erection plans with field crewsMaintain jobsite safety standards and enforce safety proceduresCoordinate with the Field Superintendent, project managers, and other tradesMonitor crew productivity and help maintain project schedulesParticipate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetingsAssist with jobsite logistics, material handling, and equipment coordinationQualifications3+ years of structural steel erection experienceExperience leading crews as a Foreman or Lead IronworkerStrong understanding of steel erection practices, rigging, and jobsite safetyAbility to read and interpret structural drawings and erection plansExperience coordinating with superintendents and project teamsStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsWillingness to travel to projects throughout NC, SC, TN, and GAPreferredBackground working for a structural steel fabricator and erectorOSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)Experience on commercial or industrial steel erection projectsFamiliarity with AISC standards and structural steel safety practicesCompensation & Benefits$75,000 - $100,000 DOEPer diem and travel expenses coveredMedical, Dental, VisionPTO & Paid Holidays401(k)Opportunities for advancement into Superintendent rolesIf you're a hands-on leader who enjoys working in the field and leading steel erection crews, we want to hear from you.Send your resume to: justin.knitt@gogpac.com
