Anticipated Opening - Position is contingent on funding and student enrollment!School Spring #5704797Title of Position: SUMMER EDUCATION INTERNSHIP COORDINATORDISCOVERY CLUB/ACCESS 21 STAND ALONE PROGRAMWork Year: July 6, 2026 - July 30, 2025Monday - Thursday7:30 am to 12:15 pm - Nettle Middle School OR8:45 am to 1:15 pm - Haverhill High SchoolTrainings in June - Dates TBDWork Location: Nettle Middle School OR Haverhill High School, depending on intern site placementSalary: $40.00/hr (if for any reason the candidate selected does not complete the appointment, compensation will be prorated based upon time served)Organizational Relationshipor Line of Authority: Director/Assistant Director of Out-of-School Time ProgrammingStatement of Duties:Assist with Education Internship student recruitment and retention.Conduct interest assessment.Counsel participants in choosing an appropriate Education Internship placement.Help recruit a Mentor Teacher placement for each internship student.Conduct classes in workplace readiness and classroom management skills for Education Interns.Provide training/expectations for the Mentor Teachers.Working with the student and Mentor Teacher, develop a work plan for each Education Intern.Visit and observe Education Interns while they are at their placements.Hold weekly group meetings with Education Interns to discuss experiences and work through any issues.Meet with Internship Team, Education Interns & Mentor Teachers regularlyFacilitate the process for midpoint and closing Performance Reviews.Facilitate appropriate interventions to address student needs.Maintain files and compile data for reports to funder.Counsel students on plans after graduation.Qualifications:Licensed Teacher by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education - RequiredExperience in Internship ProgramsExperience in Access 21 - Preferred.CPR and First Aid CertifiedSuch alternatives to the aforementioned qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of SchoolsHAVERHILL PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS A DIVERSE ENVIRONMENT AND IS PROUD TO BE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
