Shipper/Driver utilizesmaterial handlingequipment (e.g., hand truck, pallet jack, fork lift) to receive and unload incoming raw material from trucks, and load outgoing product. Shipper/Driver will also have driving responsibilities using a box truck or tractor-trailer to transport and deliver products between our plants or to our customers. This role works closely with our shipping manager, supervisors and other team members to ensure we are delivering high quality fabrics to satisfy our customers. Positionwill be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
Responsibilities:
Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck
Load and unload cargo
Properly track and document activity log
Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
Inspect truck before and after trip
Coordinate with the shipping manager on daily shipments and activities
Ensure transfers are completed in a timely manner
Ensure freight carriers are loaded and unloaded as required
Utilize shipping resources (materials and equipment) for optimum department effectiveness
Maintain accurate inventory and perform key duties during the companys physical inventories
Wrap/palletize and organize orders based on customer needs by load size and carrier
Inspect trailers prior to loading and secure loads on trailers
Maintain material handling equipment and ensure proper charging
Provide backup assistance for the shipping manager as needed or directed
Operate company trucks and forklifts according to safety training guidelines
Maintain high level of housekeeping essential to the efficient transport of high quality knit fabrics

Be enthusiastic about delivering exceptional products toour customers and be a positive, motivated team member
A valid Class ADriver License
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
Valid DOT Medical Certification
Successfully complete company background and drug screening requirements
Previous experience (at least 3 years)in truck driving or other logistic related fields
Ability to attain in-house certification for operating a fork lift, and other material handling equipment
Physical abilityto stand, walk and kneel on concrete floors, climb ladders, move 75 pound rolls and reach above head
Strong work ethic
