Head Cashier
Head Cashier PositionResponsible for all food service money collected and deposited for maintaining student and staff accounts. Performs assigned job responsibilities in the kitchen, including food preparation, serving, cashiering, cleaning and record keeping with a positive and productive attitude that creates a safe environment for both students and staff. Essential functions include operating Skyward Point of Sale terminal during lunch and accurately identifying reimbursable meals, collecting daily deposits of cash and checks, entering all meal transactions daily in the Food Service Skyward program, generating Skyward financial and meal count reports for end of day procedures, initialing prepared deposit slips and delivering to bank daily, creating and distributing negative account balance letters for guardians and staff, correctly completing necessary paperwork, assisting in the planning and estimation of food supplies needed, assisting in the receiving and storing of food and supply shipments, assisting in the planning and directing of food preparation and serving of meals, assisting in the training of employees in cashier and cash handling, food preparation and handling, serving portions, and use and care of equipment, assisting in supervising the daily activities of the school food service operation, assisting parents and staff with questions regarding eligibility and meal accounts, performing regular Child Nutrition Employee tasks as outlined in "Child Nutrition Worker" job description, adhering to all sanitation regulations, procedures and instructions as assigned, complying with work schedule and following call-in procedures, and performing all other duties as assigned by supervisor.Equipment: N/ATravel Requirement: Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as requiredPay Rate: $17.85 per hourWork Schedule: 182 days per year. 4-7.5 hours per day.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to display knowledge of effective methods of leadership and supervision, ability to display knowledge of cash management techniques and practices, ability to understand and follow detailed written and oral instructions, displays knowledge of basic culinary and sanitation skills, ability to read and follow standardized recipes, including weights and measurements, ability to learn prescribed food preparation methods and school nutrition operations, ability to prepare food with reasonable speed and accuracy, general knowledge of the use and care of food preparation equipment, ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment, ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with students and school staff, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide diversity of associates, students and school staff, ability to remain flexible and open to changes in regulations, duties, policies, procedures, etc., ability to maintain confidential information, ability to maintain Professional Standards continuing education by attending conferences and workshops when requested, basic proficiency in English is required for safety and communication of work instructions.Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:Physical Requirement Percentage of Time:Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
