Family Practice - Without OB Physician

Opportunity OverviewWe are seeking a Family Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment in the rural community of Maui. This is a unique opportunity for a provider who is comfortable practicing independently in a remote setting while serving a close-knit community.Patient Population & VolumeAll ages (pediatrics through geriatrics)Average patients per day (may range up to 22)Mostly scheduled patients; walk-ins acceptedFamily Medicine and Urgent Care visitsIncludes school-based health services at Hana School (wellness visits and acute illness/injury)Clinic 8:00 AM 5:00 PM + CallCall ResponsibilitiesProvider carries the call phone during assigned call shiftsMust independently triage and manage after-hours calls from patients, medics, or hospital staffNo on-site support staff while on callMust be able to stabilize and treat patients independentlyIf urgent, provider must be able to meet the patient at the clinic within 15 minutesLocal medics are available for transport if neededClinical ResponsibilitiesComfortable functioning as a solo providerPerform minor procedures, suturing, splintingInterpret and perform EKGs, X-rays, and CLIA-waived point-of-care testingStrong clinical judgment and decision-making skills requiredRequirementsMD or DOBoard Certified in Family MedicineActive Hawaii medical licenseDEABLS, ACLS, PALS requiredATLS preferred but not required
