Electrical Engineer/PLC Controls
What You'll Be DoingDevelop, program, and troubleshoot PLC control systems (Allen-Bradley / Siemens) for automated manufacturing equipmentSupport electrical system design, including control panels, field devices, and network architectureIntegrate and commission paint shop systems, conveyors, and material handling equipmentModify and optimize PLC logic, HMI/SCADA interfaces, and system communicationsSupport equipment installation, startup, and commissioning at customer sitesPerform I/O checks, loop checks, and system validation testingLead and support debugging and root cause analysis during production trialsCollaborate with mechanical, process, and project teams to ensure system performance and delivery timelinesInterface with vendors, subcontractors, and customers during project executionSupport factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT)Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and customer specificationsWork EnvironmentBased in Greer, SC with project-based travel (up to 50%)Work across automotive plants, paint shops, and industrial manufacturing facilitiesAbility to support extended hours, weekends, and shutdown schedulesWhat You Bring (Required)Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens)Experience supporting industrial automation systems, conveyors, or process equipmentAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control drawingsHands-on experience with installation, commissioning, and startup supportFamiliarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, etc.)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a live production environmentWillingness to travel extensively and support on-site project workPreferred QualificationsExperience with automotive paint systems (E-coat, Sealer, Topcoat, etc.)HMI/SCADA experience (FactoryTalk, WinCC, Ignition, etc.)Knowledge of robot integration (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA)Experience with safety PLCs and standards (ISO 13849, ANSI B11)Exposure to MES/SCADA integration and data systemsPrevious experience working with OEMs or system integratorsWhat Sets You ApartAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environmentStrong communication skills with both technical teams and customersA proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and drive solutions independently
