Data Center Engineering Manager
About The Role:As a CBRE Data Center Manager, you will manage the team responsible for providing preventative maintenance andrepair services to a data center in Kenilworth.This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenanceservices in critical client environments.What You’ll Do: Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee therecruiting and hiring of new employees. Ensureuptime and reliability of critical infrastructure (UPS, Chillers, HVAC,generators, etc.). Overseeincident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Managevendor relationships and service contracts. Monitorcapacity planning and support infrastructure scaling. Ensurecompliance with safety, environmental, and security standards. Developand manage operational budgets and reporting. Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff anddepartment deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed. Manage the relationship with the client while working with other stakeholders to meet all MSA requirements. Responsible for ensuring the completion of configuration management, work orders, preventative maintenance, and repairs within the agreed SLA timeframe. Resolve unforeseen circumstances that occur and inform the client or Sr. management when needed. Verify facility infrastructure equipment installations are within the agreed SLA timeframe. Oversee Information Technology equipment power installations, relocation and decommission requests. Check daily routine cleanup of the data halls and review findings. Confirm all deployments are installed to applicable internal, manufacturer, and industry standards. Ensure that all records are updated following any changes made. Ensure that documentation is also kept up to date for all applicableprocesses. Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments and presents to Sr. management. Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach anagreement. Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team anddepartmental objectives. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderatelycomplex issues which may or may not be evidentin existing systems and processes.What You’ll Need: Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will beconsidered. Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewardingperformance and retention preferred. Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performanceexpectations and handle problems. Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.What You’ll Need:Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Facility Management certification preferred.Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Data Center Facilities Manager position is $130,000 annually and the maximum salary of $150,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
