Partnering closely with the Executive Producer and Supervising Producer, this role drives story selection, editorial framing, and overall presentation to deliver compelling, high-quality newscasts.The Senior Producer also serves as a key operational leader within the control room, ensuring seamless execution under daily and breaking news conditions, and acts as the primary backup to the Supervising Producer when needed.Your Role Accountabilities…Partner with the Supervising Producer and anchor to plan, develop, and execute weekend and weekday overnight programmingLead the creation of dynamic rundowns that reflect strong editorial judgment, distinctive angles, and audience relevanceCollaborate closely with anchors to shape interviews, scripts, and key editorial momentsGuide and support the production team, helping to prioritize coverage and elevate storytellingMaintain rigorous quality control across all elements of the broadcast, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and editorial integrityTake the lead in the control room during live broadcasts, including high-pressure breaking news situationsContribute to forward planning and editorial strategy, by identifying upcoming stories and finding relevant guests/experts.Step in for the Supervising Producer as needed, ensuring continuity of leadership and executionQualifications & Experience…5+ years of experience producing live news programmingStrong knowledge of international news, current events, and business newsProven control room expertise with daily line producing experienceDemonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams in fast-paced environmentsExcellent editorial judgment, with a clear understanding of news value and story developmentAbility to perform effectively under pressure, particularly during breaking newsBachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experienceFlexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, overnights, and weekendsHow We Get Things Done…This last bit is probably the most important!
