Registered Nurse - 3 MainJob SummaryResponsible for implementing and supervising nursing services in the medical and surgical care and gives direction to unit assistants on shift. Implements nursing care in a fast-paced environment primarily with observation status patients and overnight post-op patient stays. Treat actual or potential health problems using the nursing diagnosis and maintain the plan of care. Teach, counsel and provide supportive care to the patient and their significant others.Essential FunctionsProvides safe and appropriate nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing processPerforms a thorough and timely assessment of patient’s condition including physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative aspectsIdentifies problems/nursing needs including discharge needsIntervenes appropriately to address identified problems and needs. Plans care according to standards of care. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Minimum Education/CertificationsGraduate of an accredited program in nursing.Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of NJ.Certifications required: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support preferred.Minimum Work ExperienceOne-two years of experience preferred.Working ConditionsExposed to unpleasant odors, body waste, communicable diseases. Encounters stress, crisis, emergencies, trauma and death. On feet most of the day, lifts patients and moves heavy equipment. Interacts with family, visitor health team members and other hospital and referral agency personnel.
