Maintenance Technician

Summary: The Maintenance Technician position is a maintenance crew member assigned to perform maintenance which includes areas of expertise in electrical-mechanical maintenance and installation, instrumentation, controls, Frequency drives, mechanical troubleshooting, and repair. The primary goal is to ensure safe and efficient production by responding to changing conditions in a timely manner.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Arc welding, MIG and TIG Working in all areas of the plantTroubleshooting and repair of pumps/ auto valvesTroubleshooting and repair of grain systemPerforming preventative maintenanceMoving sets, and calibrating, as needed, controls such as: knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms, on control panels to control process variables such as: flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals, by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units such as: heaters, coolers, thermal oxidizer, compressors, exchangers, and other unitsDetermine malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges or by automatic warning signals, such as lights and sounding of hornsInspect equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction such as: leaks, breakages, faulty valves and pumpsDetermine repair and maintenance of equipmentPatrol units to verify safe and efficient operating conditionsLubricate equipmentQualifications:3+ years of mechanical experience or Maintenance Tech DegreeHigh School Diploma or GED required, Maintenance Tech Degree preferredFamiliarity with industrial equipment operations and careExperience with Arc MIG and TIG welding preferred Mechanical background with bearing changes, pumps, conveyors, etc.Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in the areas of planning, organizing, interpersonal communicationsAbility to read and update blueprints Understanding of discrete and analog systemsPneumatic Experience & Hydraulic Experience strongly preferredValid Driver's License requiredWork Environment/Physical Demands:Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 60 lbs., and work at heightsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical partsThe employee is regularly exposed to dusty conditionsThe employee is regularly exposed to high noise environmentsThe employee is regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditionsThe employee will regularly be exposed to chemicals used in the processJob Type: Full-timeShift(s): Days: Mon-Thurs Shift times: 7 am-5 pm. Tues-Fri Shift times: 7 am-5 pm. Each Maintenance Technician takes turns, on rotation, covering the Tues-Fri Schedule. Take turns being on call for 7 days.
