Senior Plumbing Engineer / Designer (Hybrid – California)The OpportunityA leading, sustainability-focused engineering consultancy is growing its Northern California plumbing team and is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer to take on a high-impact role.This position offers the chance to work across commercial, healthcare, multifamily, manufacturing, and process facilities, while playing a key role in both project delivery and team growth.In the short term, you’ll lead complex plumbing and process design efforts. Long term, you’ll have the opportunity to help build and shape a regional plumbing practice, influence standards, and mentor the next generation of engineers.What You’ll DoLead plumbing and process piping design from concept through constructionPerform fixture counts, system sizing, and technical calculationsProduce and review construction documents and Revit modelsCoordinate closely with MEP, architectural, and ownership teamsSupport construction administration (RFIs, submittals, site visits, field reports)Ensure QA/QC standards are met across deliverablesMentor junior staff and contribute to team growthSupport business development efforts as neededWhat We’re Looking For7+ years of plumbing design experience (consulting or related)PE license or CPD certificationStrong Revit/BIM proficiencyExperience with commercial, healthcare, manufacturing, or process projectsAbility to work independently and communicate effectively with teams and clientsBased in California within commuting distance of an office (2 days/week in-office)Nice to HaveMedical gas or process piping experienceLEED or other sustainability credentialsExperience with water treatment systems or heat pump water heatersExposure to fire protection systemsProject management or team leadership experienceCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $100,000-$140,000Hybrid flexibility (2 days in office)Strong benefits package + performance incentivesClear path to leadership and career growthCollaborative, sustainability-driven cultureWhy This Role Stands OutDirect path to leadership (not just another design role)High-impact, diverse project portfolioStrong backing and resources from a global engineering platformOpportunity to help build and shape a growing regional team
