About SuperSonic POSSuperSonic POS is a modern point-of-sale and retail technology platform based in Tampa, FL.We power thousands of retail locations across convenience, grocery, fuel, and specialty retail with:Cloud-based POS and back officeReal-time reporting and analyticsInventory and pricebook managementIntegrated payments and value-added servicesWe’re a lean, product-focused engineering team building systems that handle high transaction volumes and real-world retail complexity.Role: Full Stack Software Engineer (Hybrid – Tampa, FL)This is a full-time, hybrid role with 2 days per week in-office at our Westshore Tampa location. The first 90 days are fully on-site for faster onboarding & integration to the team.You’ll work across the stack — from our web and mobile front-ends to backend services — to ship features that directly impact thousands of stores.What you’ll doBuild and maintain full-stack features in our POS and back-office applicationsWork across modern TypeScript, including both frontend and backend servicesDevelop and consume APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)Work with relational databases and caching systemsContribute to system design for performance, reliability, and scalabilityCollaborate with product and engineering to define and deliver new functionalityParticipate in code reviews and help improve engineering standards and patternsRequirements4+ years of professional software engineering experienceStrong proficiency with TypeScriptExperience with at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React)Experience building backend services (e.g., Node.js or similar)Comfortable working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)Familiarity with APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)Experience with containers (e.g., Docker) and CI/CDStrong debugging, problem-solving, and ownership mindsetAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentNice-to-HaveExperience in fintech, payments, or POS/retail systemsExperience with in-store hardware integrations (printers, scanners, scales, etc.)Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Familiarity with event-driven systems, queues, or streamingContributions to open source or a strong GitHub/portfolioCompensation & BenefitsBase salary: $100,000–$150,000 (Tampa – Hybrid, 2x/week on-site)Exact offer depends on experience, seniority, and interview performance.Health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchTwo weeks paid time off + eight paid holidaysFlexible work hours with a hybrid scheduleStrong ownership, visibility, and impact in a growing company
