Business Operations Intern – Internal Communications The Business Operations Intern – Internal Communications will support the Business Operations team in strengthening how information flows across the organization. This role focuses on creating clear, consistent, and accessible internal communications that support operational efficiency, employee engagement, and alignment across departments.The intern will work closely with Business Operations, IT, and cross-functional teams to help develop, organize, and maintain internal communications delivered through tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and other collaboration platforms. This is a hands-on role designed for someone interested in operations, communications, and how effective internal messaging supports business execution.Key Responsibilities:Internal Communications & Content Development:Draft, edit, and publish internal communications including announcements, updates, summaries, and process documentationAssist with creating clear, concise content for internal platforms (e.g., SharePoint intranet pages, Teams posts, internal presentations)Translate complex operational or technical topics into employee-friendly messagingIntranet & Information Management:Support organization and maintenance of internal content to ensure a clear "source of truth"Help improve content structure, navigation, and usability across internal communication channelsAudit existing internal communications and flag opportunities for clarity, consistency, and improvementCross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with Business Operations, IT, HR, and other teams to support communication needs tied to projects, tools, and process changesGather input from stakeholders and synthesize information into well-structured communicationsSupport rollout communications for new systems, tools, or operational initiativesProcess & Operational Support:Assist in documenting workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal guidelinesHelp track engagement and effectiveness of internal communicationsContribute ideas to improve how information is shared across the organizationRequired Qualifications:Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Operations, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related fieldStrong written communication skills with attention to clarity, structure, and toneAbility to organize information logically and present it clearlyComfort working with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams); experience with SharePoint is a plusDetail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote teamPreferred Qualifications:Interest in business operations, process improvement, or internal communicationsExperience writing for internal or professional audiencesFamiliarity with content management systems, intranet platforms, or knowledge basesBasic understanding of how technology and systems support business processesWhat You'll Gain:Hands-on experience supporting real business operations and internal initiativesExposure to cross-functional teams and leadershipPractical experience in internal communications, documentation, and change enablementInsight into how effective communication supports operational efficiency and employee engagementMentorship from Business Operations professionalsSuccess in This Role Looks Like:Internal communications are clear, timely, and easy to understandEmployees can more easily find the information they needContent is organized, consistent, and aligned with business prioritiesStakeholders feel supported and informed during operational changesPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the person is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear.
