Program Director

POSITION TITLE: Program Director SUPERVISOR: Executive Director BASIC FUNCTION: The Program Director will be responsible for developing and implementing support programs for victims and their families; handling case management; promoting the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) approach to the interview/investigation; providing MDT and agency support throughout the interview/team review process; on-boarding for new staffs; providing supervision of direct service staff; maintaining a child-friendly, supportive environment within the Child Advocacy Center (CAC); working with MDT on training needs; supporting outreach efforts of the CAC; overseeing volunteers and interns; serving as administrative backup to the Executive Director; and providing oversight for all CAC functions in the absence of the Executive Director. RESPONSIBILITIES A . Administrative · Adhering to assigned work schedule to ensure the CAC is staffed during regular business hours. · Attending MDT meetings. · Participating in peer review as appropriate. · Maintaining current, accurate statistics regarding the programs. · Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual statistics. · Complete grant and contract reporting and invoicing as assigned by the Executive Director. · Responding to subpoenas and testifying when requested. · Assisting in the identification and development of new services and programs. · On-boarding new staff; guiding development and success · Setting team / individual growth goals for CAC programs. · Ensure compliance with required yearly trainings for CAC staff. · Establishing volunteer/intern jobs according to organizational need. · Creating and overseeing intern and volunteer on-boarding and training. · Create and manage intern and volunteer schedule for the CAC. · Connecting CAC volunteers with jobs that appropriately utilize their skills. · Maintaining CAC equipment and supplies. · Participate with the Board of Directors and Advisory Committee as directed by the Executive Director. · Maintaining and implementing the on-call schedule · Serve as administrative back up on call · Overseeing and supervising the daily program operations including supervision of staff and holding staff accountable to their duties and responsibilities. · Assisting Executive Director with performance management and evaluations as assigned by the Executive Director. · Support outreach efforts as directed. · Performing such other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. B. Direct Service · Providing crisis support to the victims and families who visit the CAC (greeting families, explaining the role of the CAC in the investigative process, knowing the reason for the child’s visit (before the visit), supporting and providing system education to the non-offending caregiver while the victim interview takes place, supporting and supervising children when using the playroom, providing community resource referrals as needed, etc. · Following up with families as appropriate; assisting with needs through criminal justice system. · Updating and providing “Caregiver Resource Packets” and other necessary information to visiting caregivers. · Preparing and maintaining client files and records; reviewing interview statistics for accuracy · Ensuring appropriate medical/mental health referrals are provided to every family, per guidelines. · Ensuring satisfaction surveys are provided to families; providing Outcome Measurement System (OMS) reports. · Facilitating MDT meetings · Maintaining up to date knowledge of community resources · Entering and maintaining data in case tracking system · Serving as liaison among various agencies participating in CAC activities (law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, mental health, medical, victim advocacy, and education) · Working to improve coordination and collaboration among MDT agencies · Developing and maintaining forensic interview skills · Performing forensic Interviews according to established protocol · Participating in peer review · Responding to emergency interviews outside of regular CAC hours as assigned. · Responding to subpoenas and testifying when requested. · Attending training/workshops to stay current on new techniques and information within the field · Maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe environment. · Arranging and attending standing meetings with MDT advocates · Facilitating Support Groups C. Other Responsibilities · Adhering to CAC policies, procedures and employment guide. · Tracking hours worked daily; timesheets must be accurate, written, and kept up-to-date. · Assisting with CAC Outreach efforts. · Participating in community organizations, as appropriate. · Performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS: · Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice or a related field. Previous professional experience working with children and families where abuse and violence are identified as issues is preferred. · Previous experience in social services and leadership preferred. · Must be able to work independently as well as function as a team member and accept guidance and direction from the Executive Director. · Must be able to work with a variety of people, including children and their families, professionals in the areas of law enforcement, mental health, medical, education, and agency employees. · Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, works well under pressure, able to manage multiple deadlines effectively, maintains and accepts personal accountability, able to work independently and creatively as part of a cooperative and coordinated team. · Must be detail oriented, organized, responsible, dependable, trustworthy, and of high integrity. · Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, computers and common software programs. · Requires normal range of hearing, eyesight, coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to record, prepare and communicate reports and operate office equipment. · Must give permission for a police records check by completing a criminal background information form and digital fingerprint check.
