Job Description
Scope: The Test Engineer I, with guidance from senior engineers; researches, plans, designs, develops, analyzes and tests a variety of electronic and optical equipment and systems, including developing the hardware, test and interface test adapters (ITA) schematics; and generating the test software and test execution scripts.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
Perform basic design activities as assigned by their supervisor.
Design, automate, and maintain test equipment used for design and qualification validation testing, manufacturing product validation, and engineering design test verification.
Develop requirements, specifications, plans, procedures, and reports for test system development and product qualification, verification, and validation.
Produce schematics and other design drawing.
Assure that engineering effort costs adhere to budget and develops engineering budgets.
Participate in design reviews.
Release work product into the appropriate document and change management tool.
Interface with other engineering disciplines and program management to understand requirements and scope of effort.
Consult with vendors on technology selections.
Other related duties as assigned by management.

Manage Production Test equipment (i.e. Thermal Chambers, ATP test Stands)
Site-to-site collaboration (Customer, Affiliates)
Supports (PRR) production Readiness Reviews (internal/External)
Manage Test Equipment and preventative maintenance schedules
Manages Calibration of Test Equipment
Performs trend analysis reports for test Failures
Presents Data to internal; & external customers
Business Relationships:
Operations Managers/Supervisors
Production Assemblers (EE & TT)
Program Management staff
Mission Assurance staff
Receiving/Shipping staff
Material Managers and Buyers/Planners.
Site Leads (all sites)
Customers & Suppliers
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in at minimum 1 software programming language, includes NI LabView.
Willingness to take initiative.
TestStand Scripting using LabVIEW and C/CVI/C++/.Net DLLs.
C/C++/C# programing experience.
Knowledge and experience in Electronic Assembly Manufacturing.
Detail oriented
Ability to take direction and follow instructions
Ability to work at a fast pace in a sometimes-stressful environment with minimal errors
The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to collaborate with and submit reports to Production Managers and leadership
The ability to use Microsoft software proficiently.
The ability to be a self-starter and learner.
Ability to learn, adapt, and utilize ERP systems and access points (LN, PLM, MES)
The skill to work effectively across organizational and functional boundaries.
Good interpersonal relationship
Ability to multitask
General knowledge of functional areas to include processes, initiatives and improvement objectives.
Ability to influence without authority.
Exposure and working knowledge in negotiation, collaborative problem solving, conflict management, meeting facilitation skills, and applying tact and diplomacy with internal/external customers and foreign personnel.
Design for (Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, Maintenance, etc.)
Engineering drawing (GD&T) ANSI Y14.5, models, prints, schematics
Enterprise-wide Systems Integration (PLM, MRP, MES, ERP, etc.)
Bachelor's degree required (8 -10 years functional experience may substitute) A Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer, or Software Engineering preferred
