Senior BIM Engineer - Electrical Construction (VDC Focus)Lincoln, Nebraska (HQ: St. Louis, MO)We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BIM Engineer to join a leading electrical contractor delivering complex, large-scale construction projects across the U.S.This is a technical leadership role at the forefront of BIM/VDC delivery, focused on driving coordination, improving constructability, and integrating digital models directly with field execution.🔧 About the RoleYou will lead advanced electrical BIM modelling and coordination, working across distribution systems, lighting, and controls on major projects. A key part of your role will be ensuring fully coordinated, clash-free, and buildable designs using industry-leading tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.You will also play a critical role in bridging the gap between design and construction—supporting prefabrication strategies, improving installation efficiency, and identifying constructability issues early in the project lifecycle.📌 Key ResponsibilitiesLead BIM/VDC modelling and multi-trade coordination on large electrical projectsDevelop and manage detailed electrical models (power distribution, lighting, controls)Drive clash detection and resolution using NavisworksSupport field teams with constructability input and installation sequencingIntegrate BIM models with prefabrication and project execution strategiesMentor and develop junior BIM team membersEnsure compliance with modelling standards and best practicesCollaborate with Project Managers, Estimators, Engineers, and field teamsParticipate in client coordination meetings and design reviewsSupport value engineering and project optimisation initiatives🎯 Requirements5+ years’ experience in BIM/VDC or electrical construction environmentsStrong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and NavisworksSolid understanding of NEC codes and field installation methodsProven experience leading coordination efforts and mentoring teamsDegree in Electrical Engineering, Construction, or equivalent experience🌟 What’s on OfferOpportunity to work on large-scale, technically complex electrical projectsStrong focus on innovation, BIM integration, and digital construction deliveryLeadership role with real impact on project execution and efficiencyLong-term career progression within a leading contractor📩 If you are an experienced BIM professional looking to step into a senior leadership role within electrical construction, we’d love to hear from you.
