VP and Loan Manager

The Loan Manager plays a key leadership role in growing and maintaining a high-quality loan portfolio while ensuring strong credit standards. This position supports the oversight and performance of the Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Retail Lending departments, contributing to strategic direction, operational efficiency, and staff development. The role involves guiding loan officers in managing complex credits, resolving problem loans, and developing products and marketing strategies to drive loan growth. Additionally, the Loan Manager participates in customer relationship management, supports training and development of lending staff, and helps establish and enforce loan policies, procedures, and risk grading standards. The position also contributes to organizational goals by promoting sound lending practices, maintaining regulatory compliance, enhancing the bank's competitive position, and supporting community and economic development initiatives.The ideal candidate brings substantial experience in lending, typically around 10 years, with strong knowledge of loan administration, credit analysis, and regulatory compliance. A college degree in business or finance is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered. The role requires in-depth understanding of lending practices, accounting principles, and banking regulations, along with the ability to analyze and structure complex credit transactions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to lead, train, and develop staff effectively. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational and prioritization skills, sound judgment in risk assessment, and the ability to delegate and perform under pressure.
