Then VALCO is the company for you!Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Properly and safely set-up and operate all tool room machinery including CNC machines without supervisionProduce and assemble quality machined/ground components from print to tolerances up to +-.0005" without supervision and in a timely mannerAssemble dies, fixtures and jigs to assembly printWork independently on assigned jobs with minimal supervisionUnderstand machining /grinding tendencies of different tool steels and the necessary machine settings / cutting tools to produce machined/ground parts to printMaintain clean orderly work area and follow all safety rulesPerform routine maintenance on tool room machinesMust be capable of maintaining a healthy, cooperative and cordial attitude in regards to the working relationship with fellow tool room staffMust be able to troubleshoot tooling and fixturesLike all VAL-CO employees, the conduct of the Journeyman must be consistent with good character and must be reflective of our company's published core values.Requirements:Must have 4 years machining & tool and die building and detailing experience, machine building/re-building, or approved schoolingGood understanding of tool steel properties and heat-treating characteristicsSufficient in reading standard component and assembly prints. Also must understand standard print terminology and symbolsProvide own machinist tools and be proficient in using themMust pass company machinist math testPossess a quality and safety conscious attitudeAbility to program & run tool room CNC machinesMust be capable of welding standard too steels (hot rolled- cold rolled and tool steels)Essential Job FunctionsMust be able to turn laterally 90 degrees to right and leftMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs to waist heightMust be able to stand for 8 hour shiftMust be able to legibly complete all necessary paperworkMust be able to position parts in machine and simultaneously actuate clamps to secure partMust be able to properly use appropriate hand tools, writing utensils and measuring devices required to meet quality, safety and quantity standardsMust be able to read, understand and operate CNC controls
