Compliance Counsel
What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a Counsel to join its Global Compliance Team, based in one of Tesla's offices in Austin, Texas, or the Bay Area of California. This role involves working closely with Tesla's dynamic business units to ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and internal policies. The position supports Tesla's commitment to an ethical business culture, collaborates on internal investigations, and reports to the Director of Global Compliance.
What You'll Do
Work closely with business units to ensure operations comply with relevant laws and internal policies
Support internal investigations of potential violations of law or company policy as needed
Conduct root-cause analysis of compliance events and recommend updates to processes and controls
Support initiatives to identify compliance issues and trends through data analysis and evaluation
Assist in the development and delivery of compliance training programs
What You'll Bring
Juris Doctor with current license to practice in at least one U.S. state or Washington, DC
Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation or compliance-focused legal practice
Excellent communication skills
Passion for addressing ethics and compliance challenges in multi-national companies
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, challenging environment
Strong analytical skills, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity and risk
High standards of integrity, ethics, and sound judgment
