Solar Site Surveyor
Job Description
Capital Energy is a full service, residential solar installer looking for experienced and driven individuals to join our team. We are currently looking for a Part-Time Solar Site Surveyor to assist documenting site information in order to design a photovoltaic system to meet the needs of our customer. Position Overview:The Site Surveyor position is a very critical part our organizations internal team. Our site surveyors are the first person with boots on the ground at the job site representing our company. You will work closely with our Design and Engineering team along with your manager. This position is responsible for gathering all information needed from a homeowner's residence to ensure the design team can properly prepare permits needed to facilitate installation of photovoltaic systems. This position requires you to get aerial imagery of the home/property and take photos of the electrical panel, meter, obstructions, and general property info but not limited to taking physical measurements and documentation. Responsibilities and Duties:Assess job site conditions upon arrival such as roof tops and electrical panelsUtilize Drones to capture aerial imageryMeasure roof planes, vents, dormers, and chimneys as neededMeasure and access attic structure and conditionsCapture shade reading reports for designers and financing platformsDraw, document, and photograph roofs, Attic space and Electrical panels, including pre-existing damagesUpload photos and site assessment documentation into Site CaptureInspect roofs for structural integrityProperly use Personal Protective EquipmentPerform other tasks and duties as required Qualifications:1-2 years of experience in the construction industrySolar installation experience is preferred but not requiredAbility to read, write, understand solar plans and designs as well as obtain excellent verbal communicationAbility to work in challenging environments (hot sun, cold, wind, tight spaces, etc.)Capable of standing for long stretches of time and working at heights (on rooftops, climb ladders and stairs)Must be willing to travelAbility to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during work, including but not limited to peers and customersAbility to operate smart phone for communication and uploading documents / photosMust be open to working different schedules Mon-SunCurrent Driver's license, and clean driving record Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, climb, crawl, push, pull, reach, sit, stand, climb ladders, and work with various tools and equipment. Have the ability to listen, understand, and communicate in writing and verbally.Requirements:Clean driving and background recordValid CA Driver's LicenseThe ability to travel within California on a Weekly basis based on project location.Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements
