Mechanical Engineer
Corvid's Fuze Team is looking to add a talented, experienced Mechanical Engineer support and possibly lead design, development, qualification, and production of products for our growing portfolio of products. Our team in Cincinnati develops innovative technologies and products involving electronic and electro‑mechanical assemblies used in various defense applications. This role will bring a strong technical foundation and hands‑on experience developing products for a variety of applications that could be applicable to aerospace and defense systems.
In addition to technical depth, successful candidates will have strong communications skills and the ability to work across a multidisciplinary team. While an individual contributor, the position will have the opportunity to demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for the design of electronic, electro‑mechanical, and mechanical safety devices – using expertise and stack up finite element analysis to develop better products
Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and drawings throughout product lifecycle (incorporating topics such as continuous improvement & design for manufacturing initiatives)
Mechanical analyses including but not limited to stack up and finite element analysis
Generation of test plans/reports and support test events – including design of test fixtures
Work with a remote design team and coordinate all local needs for product integration
Provide technical support for Internal Research and Development (IRAD) projects
Required Qualifications
Must be a US citizen and the ability to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar discipline) and at least 3 years of relevant experience (Advanced Degrees are preferred)
Demonstrated design and/or analysis experience, specifically related to developing electro‑mechanical or electronic systems (preference for aerospace or DoD experience)
Position will require occasional travel to support customer engagement and production efforts
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aerospace and defense industry, particularly with defense electronics and/or electro‑mechanical assembly
Experience with energetic systems, fuzing/arming concepts, or weapon effects/lethality assessments
Knowledge of MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-1901, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-810, and JOTP-052 requirements
Experience and knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Experience with a full range of product lifecycles, from design to production
