Position Summary
The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company and will ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. This position does offer the potential opportunity for advancement to Chief Financial Officer within the company.
Job Duties
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Timely filing of all taxes
Maintaining company stock records
Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, assists in pricing decisions.
Leading interface with Banks, Lenders, and financial institutions
Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
Assisting and directing in company policies and procedures
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Commercial Insurance renewing annually
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Oversee the Administrative Assistants (future), which includes invoicing and maintaining customer documents.
Requirements:
Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent time management skills
Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Education & Experience
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
Five years or more of experience required.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
Pay & Benefits
Pay range: $130,000-$145,000/year (Salaried Exempt)
