Payroll & Inventory Specialist

Stevens Marine is also one of the largest Mercury motor outboard dealers on the west coast.Job Summary: The payroll & inventory specialist combines payroll operations, accounting, and serialized inventory tracking to deliver accurate information for titling and employee focused payroll. The position owns end to end payroll processing, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and serves as the expert on payroll systems. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment regarding confidential information, and a commitment to employee service partnered with interactions with Titling, Sales, Accounting, and Operations.Duties and Responsibilities:Process bi-weekly payrollTrack commissions, calculate & post to payrollDistribute Commission totals to sales staff for accuracyEnroll new employees in Health and dental insuranceTrack and manage vacation, sick timeSAIF Reporting, audits, and claimsAssist employees with HR & payroll related inquiriesKeep up to date Federal and State Employment postersTrack serialized inventory boat, motor, and trailer purchases and salesKeep track of monthly cost of sales of serialized inventoryMonthly inventory countSupports audits, 401(k) compliance testing, and regulatory reportingProvide guidance to managers and employees on payroll, timekeeping, and company policies and procedures. Participate in payroll and timekeeping system setup and maintenance. Support troubleshooting and system fixes.Respond to Federal, State, and local information requests and surveys including BLS, DOL, and other regulatory agenciesMaintain and update HR filesMaintain and update new hire packets and various employee related company forms.Inventory & AccountingTrack serialized boat, motor, trailer inventory, recording purchases, salesTrack monthly cost of serialized salesEnd of month serialized inventory countProvide new and used sales to title clerk for DMV/OMB registrationsTrack intercompany transfersProcess payments for serialized inventory through AP softwarePay and track serialized inventory on Flooring accountInventory Floor checks with flooring companyVarious unit sales, and other reports as neededApply for manufacturer rebates on boatsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:5+ years of hands on payroll processing with ownership of end to end payroll cycles, including taxes, reconciliations, vendor payments, and payroll journal entriesExperience with ADP Run a plusStrong knowledge of Federal, State, and local payroll tax regulations, wage-and-hour laws, and benefits compliance requirements.Advanced Excel skillsHigh level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential payroll and employee information, and data privacyExperience/Requirements:ADP RunPeachtree Sage 50/QuickbooksCDK Lightspeed EVOPayroll/Accounting BackgroundMicrosoft Office (Strong Excel background)Accounts PayableStrong Understanding of General LedgerStrong Data Entry SkillsAbility to walk, squat, and kneel for counting monthly serialized inventory
