Quality Control Technician

Quality Control Technician The Quality Technician is tasked with day-to-day monitoring, testing, and documentation of raw materials, unfinished goods, and finished products throughout various stages of production and packaging. This role ensures compliance with the Company's Quality Management System, ISO standards, Safe Quality Food (SQF), and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and store inspection reports and sample retentions for review.Interpret work instructions, product drawings, and product requirements.Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications.Maintain calibration of quality control equipment and perform inspections across all production stages as per instructions.Perform Airborne Particulate Testing to validate cleanroom air quality.Conduct testing on products using X-rite, Ruler, Micrometer, Burst Tester, Seal Strength Tester, Peel Strength Tester, Liquid Particulate Testing, TAPPI Chart, and other quality equipment as per work instruction and product specification.Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards.Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.Perform other duties as directed.Essential SkillsSolid understanding of test equipment like micrometer, seal tester, Lighthouse 3016, LPS tester, X-rite.Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.1+ years of quality experience.Basic math skills such as addition and subtraction.1+ years of experience utilizing a micrometer.Additional Skills & QualificationsPlastics ExperienceGMP experience.Experience with seal tester and X-rite.Why Work Here?We are a union-based organization with multiple tiers for each role, offering opportunities for growth and increased pay as you progress. It is essential to adhere to cleanroom standards and maintain equipment hygiene at all times.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo Grove, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
